Abstract

|
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is a rare tumor arising in the bronchus.
A patient who suffered from asthma for 2 years and who experienced several days of
coughing, fever, dyspnea and right lower cutest pain had a mucoepidermoid carcinoma at
the main stem bronchus branching to the right middle and lower lobe. It occluded most
of the middle lobe bronchus and partially of the lower lobe.
Lobectomy of the right middle and lower lobe was performed and it was curative.
Microscopic examination showed a low grade mucoepidermid carcinoma.
This is a report of a rare case of mucoepidermoid cancer at the main stem bronchus
branching to the middle and lower lobe of the right with review of the literatures.
